On July 3, 2022, the SIRIUS-2021 space experiment was completed, one of the partners of which was Materia Medica Holding. SIRIUS-21 is the III stage of the international project SIRIUS (Scientific International Research in Unique Terrestrial Station).

The isolation experiment started in Moscow on the basis of the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences on November 4, 2021. Initially, the crew included three Russians, two representatives of the United States and one representative of the United Arab Emirates. The participants of the experiment spent a total of 240 days in an autonomous ground-based complex, simulating a “lunar program”: flying to a natural satellite of the Earth, flying around it to search for a landing site, landing itself and returning back to the Earth.

The international project SIRIUS (Scientific International Research in Unique Terrestrial Station, Scientific international Research In a Unique ground-based complex) is carried out jointly by the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the NASA Human Research Program with the participation of the space agencies of Russia, Germany and Canada, and also specialists from Russia, USA, Germany, France, Italy and other countries. The SIRIUS project provides for a series of isolation experiments. The next stage - the annual isolation experiment - is an integral part of this project. The start date of the experiment is determined in the period July-November 2023.
